This Evenin's Accomplishments

I know that I told you I wasn't doing a whole lot of decorating since we are trying to sell our house... well who was I kidding. You know me, I can't NOT decorate...it's not in my nature to let a decorating opportunity pass by, especially this time of year. What can I say? My home was made for fall and Christmas decor! Our home is still on the market, we are still trying to sell it, but I still live here...so I'm making the most of it!

Worked on the mantel a bit. It needed a little sprucin' up...I like it.

I had a couple of those apothecary jars that I've been collecting from yard sales. I filled one with acorns, another with a few acorns and a small plastic pumpkin from the dollar store, and one with some faux fall leaves. I sat a few plastic pumpkins on top of some candle sticks, and a candle here and there... a stack of books and a glass cake plate as a risers.

A pumpkin from Hallmark and a few pictures of me and the hubby and there you have it...a fall mantel. All free...shopping from my craft room and the basement! No need to leave home!

And then there's the kitchen:

Here's another project that popped in my head and quickly onto the wall of my kitchen. Mama Skinny found this crate at a YARD SALE and I've been using it to store my cookbooks. Tonight as I was straightening up the kitchen, this idea came to me. Surprised? Not me, I don't clean without redecorating. That's when I get some of my greatest ideas! I think this is fantastic! And it creates a nice little shelf on top.

And the Foyer:

Link I just thought this looked so cute that I needed to take a picture. Do you see the common denominator in this photo... I'll give you a hint. It's a color... YELLOW! Ain't it purty!

Love Ya'll...nighty night! Big day tomorrow...the Hubby's birthday!

  1. We girls can NEVER pass up an opportunity to decorate...no matter the season. lol And, as you said, you STILL live there, so why not enjoy it while you do. I'm sure prospective buyers will find it charming, Nicole. ;)
