Psalm 2

Lord, why does this world deny you?  They toil and they labor all day, and for what?  It is all in vain.  They plot together, against You, God, because they think that to serve You is to be in bondage and enslaved.  They think that life can be better without You.

But You don't let this bother You.  It bothers me, Lord, but not You.  No, You laugh at this old world, for those who think they can do life without you, and it's not the people You mock, but that old devil.  Because, after the laughing comes the discipline and Your stern expression of disapproval.  Your anger burns for those who go against You, and in Your anger, they are terrified.  You declare, " I have placed My Holy King on the throne, on My holy hill of Zion."  Jesus reigns.  He wins this battle, You remind them.  They will lose.

You will have the final decree, Lord, You say, "You are my son.  Today I have become your Father.  Only ask and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the whole earth as your possession.  You will break them with an iron rod and smash them like clay pots."  Those who worship the Holy King, Jesus, which is presently reigning with You, they have become Your children, me Lord, I have become Your daughter.  A daughter of the One True King...royalty, Lord, is what You have made me.  And You are my Father.  You have adopted me and made the earth my footstool.  Anything I desire, the nations...no problem...the whole earth is now under my authority because of what Jesus accomplished on that cross.  No one will ever again go against You once it is all said and done.

So, what now?  Old world, you better start using your brain, wise up!  Consider yourself warned.  You know the ending to this story.  If you aren't for Him, you're against Him, and you already know He wins.  You still have time though.  As long as there is air in your lungs, wave that flag of surrender!  Hurry before it is too late.  He is a jealous God, and His wrath will burn for those who worship anyone or anything but Him.  Ah, but for those who will surrender, who will lay it all down to serve the one true King...victory is theirs!   Joy and favor and salvation belong to them!
